About The Author

My family arrived in the US in 1963 from Argentina to start our new life in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The Skilled Trades helped my family realize our American Dream, by providing my parents along with my siblings and me the pathway to succeed in the US.

Like mine, millions of native-born and immigrant Americans - past and present - have built their American Dreams on the foundation of the Skilled Trades.

Our first winter in the US. Three more siblings would join us over the years. I'm the one next to the sweetest Mom in the world.

On the face of it, you might wonder what a guy with an MBA from Michigan, who spent 30 years in the high tech industry in sales, business development and marketing, might know about the Skilled Trades. Well, I also manage our family's real estate investments and have renovated properties in Seattle, New York, Atlanta, Kansas, Michigan and Missouri, which afforded me the opportunity to work with many contractors and skilled tradespeople across the U.S.

The inspiration for the At Your Best Playbook series came in part from those relationships. As I learned more about the desperate shortage in the Skilled Trades, it became a kind of mission for me to speak with other folks in and out of the construction Skilled Trades. When I started to factor in the real-world, human, and economic costs associated with the Skills Gap, my "kind of" mission became my 24/7 PASSION: At Your Best.
